Covering Dash Pad

Just thought I'd share some pictures with you in case anyone finds them useful.
My dash top crash pad was looking a bit worse for wear. Splits in the vinyl and foam around the screw holes.





So I stripped off the vinyl carefully like a lady's undergarments. Don't want to appear over eager.



The foam wasn't in a great state, but I imagine it was pretty poor when first made.

I then used decorating filler to fill the holes and cracks. Stays flexible when dry and goes on nicely with a flexible knife.





I also packed 4 stainless washers into the recesses for the screws as I wasn't sure the fabric would stretch as well as the original vinyl.



I then used hi temp spray adhesive to stick down some alcantara I got off ebay. Smoothed, stretched and trimmed and now installed with some longer screws.
