A (from memory, it was a while ago) 2001 ST2; 944cc liquid-cooled bundle of absolute pleasure.

I remember so many great, long trips on her when I still lived in the UK - a flash across to SE France, long long left hand bends where she would just lean and lean again - at about 90mph - glorious power delivery from about 3000rpm to 9K. Just pull, pull, pull.

A long trip through the night from the NE of France back home to the Limousin, no traffic just me and her - it was pure tank stroking magic.

As you can see writing about her brings back many great memories. When I moved to France I tried to find a Duke service place that I could have confidence in, but without success. So I decided to sell her - loads of takers but a bad decision on my part as I would now just do all the work myself, but at that time 2002 I was an ex office wallor and didn't know the arse end of nowt. Land Rover ownership has taught me loads.

So I bought another Bandit 1200 - oh dear no! Of course loads of go but completely devoid of any soul. When I had the Duke peeps would hear the dry clutch noise and come over to talk, not with the Bandit though.

It's got me all nostalgic and searching Ebay.

Cheers
Dave

will try and get some day light picks ,
2 kits ,2 switchs , outside ones and middle ones on seperate switchs

Yep same here the 2 on bumper are on when high beam is on and then theres 2 seperate switchs for the top, proper time consuming wiring it all up , you think it would be quicj but all the connectors ect takes quite a while to do . But there done now , just need a rear flood light now but seen some pritty cheap led light bars so thinking off one off thos should do the trick .

Need some sort of light on the back meself. Not keen on the LEDs. Looks too modern on an ald disco. Think I'll be going for a big working lamp.

Well for a rear work light , dont really need the distance , the led ones have a nice spread , you can get ones that look like spots and are pritty standard looking , i would say a led ine just for tue spread and there nice bright white light not orange .
also fitting a air horn on weekend the standard one was utter crap and doesnt suit the car at all

How she stands atm

plans are
-neaten the spot wiring
-superwinch tigershark 9500,
-30mm wheel spacers ,
-new rear shocks as its too bouncy,
-replace front inner wings- "boot, rear archs , sills have already been done"

Hello there .. Nice looking Disco .... another plan you may want to add to your list would be to remove the breather pipes out of your snorkel .. don't want to suck the oil out your diffs ...
