Righty ho here goes, I'm sorry in advance if this has been covered. Just had a lovely day in mablethorpe, on way back my 04 l322 vogue had the check engine light start flickering when in kickdown. It went off for a while then came on solid about 50 miles from home in Doncaster. I stopped in a layby to check. No oil warning light was present and the coolant temp was bang in the middle of the gauge. Is this some thing I should be concerned about. I managed to drive the 50 or so miles home with the check engine light, still on but no issues the car drove as it should. Is this just another LR/ RR gremlin. Thanking you wonderful folk . I'm suspecting the egr may need a clean, it's a petrol/LPG car btw

I drove my old Kia sorento for 4 years with the check light on. I only did something about it when it became an mot failure issue. It was the lambda sensor on mine. It usually becomes a.worry when they start flashing.

Morning @Voguetrader you mentioned “on kick down”, mine has done this in the past and after a few days driving normally while waiting for a chance to get it checked the light went off. So I didn’t bother with it again. When I got some other work done they looked at codes and said a misfire was detected on one cylinder (can’t remember which one). So fast forward several months and while kick down onto a roundabout “Engine Check Light” so this time checked myself and sure enough misfire on same cylinder. So in summary, you need to get it sorted because eventually it’ll do some damage. Good luck.

Hi @Voguetrader did you manage to identify the source of your Engine Light warning? I know how frustrating it can be to have a car running great but a warning light on every time you start it up.
Would be good feedback for future searches, as I’m sure there will be.
Cheers Tricky :)
