:) hello singvogel, everybody says its dead easy-but i am hopeless-honest!!.Next thing in the pipeline will be checking out stainless steel exhausts, the one on the car is from new[2006] so might be going soon, and to change the transmission oils.My colour on the car is Rimini Red and is in very good nick [52k].Used to use it for my shooting-but had to give that up because of poor health. So my time will be spent on keeping the car in good trim---Dave

There should be load of life left in that exhaust Dave.

Mine is 2004 and is still on the original one at 94K

The boxes are double skinned I discovered.

The outer skin went last winter and I was expecting it to go over the summer.

It's hanging on in there and hopefully will get through to the Spring.

It's the bloody salt that goes for them.

Now I'm retired (early) the Freelander is my No 1 hobby.

I'm 'fortunate' to have lots of relatives well on the other side of the Alps so get lots of fun on Mountain Passes on the way to and from a visit to the in-laws.

I'm looking forward to the next trip.

Phil's showing off, Dave. :)

he's mastered the photo-posting -

and he's wasted a whole bottle of tippex in blanking out half his numberplate. :D

It'll take him half an hour to clean it off too. :D

Your right Phil, not many white ones around, in the UK.

Tipex???? Didn't think of that. I could only find a bit of gloss!!

Don't know why I bothered, the numbers in my avatar!!

Hi,

That's a pity if your unhappy with the appearance of your air intake. :(

Mine is definitely 70mm. The length is 250mm, but I suppose that there may be some slight differences. It's tough stuff so I reckon it may need to be shortened / adjusted to get a good fit. Any pics?

I would also suggest that you check the tightness of all the hose clamps on the turbo hoses after a few days when they have 'settled in', by being heated and cooled a few times. Especially the 90degree bend where it connects to the EGR / by-pass, as oil tends to collect there.

Singvogel. :)

yea will look at the air take again tomorrow i will also check the clips in afew days time but so far all looks good so far

Mine was 70mm and when i fitted it today it was an exact size, had to really push it on to the air intake pipe's.---Dave
