Right have a strange one, the old "Key Fob" decided to pack up, (after checking the battery first) so called out a Mobile auto key guy, he came out saying "no probs fixed in a jiffy" well 1 hour later and him serious scratching his head he said" this does not make sense" then I happen to mention that my truck was a Jap import. (to say the look on his face explained he was not best pleased was an understatement). It turns out the Britsh to Jap Landys use a different frequency on the Alarm/immobiliser. British 433 Mhz. Japs 315 Mhz. What I want to know is can I just simple replace the little Green box under the pasenger footwell (that contains the alarm/immobiliser) and have him re-program the box and fob OR is there any other items / specifics that need to be adjusted /re-programmed due to the frequency difference? Any help would be greatful. (Note Point:- the landy will still unlock/lock on the key AND will start and drive, so even more confused.com, also the "flashing" indicators have NEVER worked on arm/disarm) Thanks Rob

I understand that Japanese spec discos don't have a security system fitted thats why you can still start the engine with out a fob, I assume that if you have is green ecu then you must have a two button fob.

So all you need to do is find a fob with the frequency of 315Mz to replace your broken one and have that programmed to match your ecu. have a word with Remotekey or similar on that one.

If you wish to replace the ecu with a uk requency 433Mz one, make sure that it comes with a matching fob or two.

Thanks discool, basically just want the remote working as cheap as poss. not really bothered about changing the spec from Jap to Englis, and yes its a 2 bitton Lucas remote.
