can i fix my radio for my return trip

hi guys
please can anyone help my radio cass on my 99 td5 has broken we left spain for our trip back to the uk and 3hours into the trip the search button jammed in which locked all the other functions out ,so i could not turn vol up or down turn it off ect,i had to pull the fuse on it and carry on with out any music. do these buttons come of click off some how any help please got to drive back to spain next week .

hi thanks all its the button on the radio i have spent best part of the day driving around asking for help to get the radio out how hard is it !its only a radio!i even went to halfords and they could not even get it out !is there another way to get the radio out ?can the plastic dash around the centre be taken out to get a better look at the radio.help i ve got to drive another 25hrs without any music.

If the radio you have fitted is the same as mine then it is not the ISO standard fitting. If you look at the front of the radio you have two holes, one each side about a quarter of the way up from the bottom. You need a small pozi drive screw driver, place in hole and locate the screw - the pozi will engage in the head of the screw - loosen both screws - one each side. Once both screws are loose ten the radio will slide out. You do not have to remove any part of the plastic to remove the radio.
