When the Disco 2 came back from the garage recently I found this piece of trim on the floor and I'm struggling to find where it has come from. Can anyone help me please?

I think that is a blank for the hook on the central console.

I've just checked and that's exactly what it is. Thank you. How I missed that I have no idea. I've just got to find some glue to hold it in place as it falls straight out. I'm guessing something is meant to push into the hole from behind to hold it in place, but glue will suffice for the time being.

Yours looks nice and in slightly better condition than ours. You also seem to have an extra knob in front of the auto gearbox lever. Is that for an aftermarket locking diff?

Wish it was mine but I'm afraid that's image I found online. Have to say, mine is well kept but the cabin in that one looks pristine, including the original audio system. As for that lever, it's definitely the CDL but I'm not sure if it's a factory fit. The vehicle in the image is probably a V8 NAS so it could be they had the CDL lever fitted from factory.

O no your curry hook isn't fitted:). That hook is invaluable for hooking your take away food bags on & when the heater is on the footwell setting it even keeps your food warm due to the way the bag hangs, in fact it's so well designed it's about the only thing that doesn't go wrong on a LR:D.

On long journeys ours becomes the "Goo-Goo bag hook!";)

How is the hook held in place since it it must take some weight? It can't just be pushed through the trim and there doesn't seem to be anything behind it to push into.

I take it you have looked inside the hole it is covering?
On ours it is in the passenger, i.e. left footwell, but looking at the back of your blanking piece, it looks like there is a tube to fit over some sort of a bar or other "sticky outy" thing.
But if there isn't much else then maybe it ain't supposed to take that much weight.
Honestly I think it is there to take the weight of a Ladyz handbag and some o them can weigh quite a bit!!
