Hi, I have just had a service on my Freelander 2.5 V6 and now I am all confused. I bought the car in June with full service history and in really good condition and I honestly thought I had a bargain. Whilst having trhe service the guy was saying that they are really expensive to repair and that if anything went on it I should scrap it or sell it to him. Is he having me on or is he being serious. I have never owned a Land Rover before and I love my little car. I am really worried now. Also as it is an automatic I was wondering how I checked the transmission fluid as it is under the casing of the engine. Can I do it myself with instructions (if anyone knows please let me know) or does it have to go to the garage.

Sorry to be a pain:doh:

Lets just say you want to read the freelander section, v6 not as bad as 1.8 k series petrol-but they are not particularly reliable

crap in general

if you have the abbility to unload the freelander i would do so asap not because it is a bad car but when it goes wrong it will cost a packet to fix if you still want to owne a land rover and want practicality see if you can find a mid to late defender 90 csw 96/98 apx 6-9k then when it goes wrong you can fix it yourself
