Hi all,

Popped into eBay the other day looking for a tumble dryer and bought a Range Rover HSE 4.6 1998 with LPG, instead.

Loads of faults listed like: the engine overheats after about 10 miles, (he thinks this is either due to a head gasket or liners).

Air conditioning does not work, but the interior heaters work fine.

Radio/ multi change CD does not work. Electric heated seats do not work.

Scratch on windscreen ( NOT a MOT failure) and Scratch on rear nearside passenger door.

Front Passengers door has to be locked manually.

Been trawling YouTube and Google for knowledge.

Intend to use K seal as a temporary head gasket fix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could also be a duff viscous fan, silted RAD, stuck thermostat or duff water pump.

Aircon is usually lack of gas due to a leaking condensor, cheap and easy to fix.

Radio/ multi change CD does not work. Electric heated seats do not work.

Heated seats are a common fail, not worth fixing IMO

That may be a burnt out lock motor due to an early RF receiver cycling the locks.

Some have used K Seal with success, I wouldn't use it, certainly not before you have checked the other items I've listed above.

Good luck with it and now post in the Range Rover section.

Thanks mate.

I will check all of those items when I pick it up Wednesday.

K seal is a temporary fix to drive it back 70 miles - if it works.

I'll give you the £850 for it!? ;)
Good luck in getting it home! I would join the rac before you collect it, if you have trouble they can take you home ;)
