bio diesel and timing

hi all

i been using bio diesel in my 200 tdi and 300 tdi, and ive been told i would be wise to retard the timing, anyone got any thoughts on this, and also how do you alter the pump timing??

remove front cover 3 x bolts on timing case align pump so that 9.5 drill or pin goes through pulley into pump housing slacken 3 x bolt on pump pulley rotate pump nut anti clockwise against pin you could take pin out and go further, never heard of retarding pump timing for bio but not had alot to do with it

Sounds like b*llsh*t to me. Should run the same or better on bio.

^^^ I agree ^^^ don't need to adjust anything in a 200/300 to run on bio.

I'd follow the old advice - if it's running well....leave well alone

or the old land rover advice - if it's running AT ALL leave well alone.

thanks for the advice guys, thats pretty much what i thought, but its best to ask, i will leave well alone
