Hi Chaps
just got the disco back from the mot with an advisory on the ball joint on the aframe above the diff. Is this an easy replacement or does the whole arm have to come off to then be pressed out? Also my wife has the truck today and called me ina bit of a flap as she had parked up to let the dogs out and the alarm was going off and couldnt stop it! Even the nice police man that pulled in to see what was going on could help :D Any ideas? basically i have been using the key only to open and close as the fob only works intermittently. Yesterday i pressed it and it locked the car then unlocked it. I then locked it as normal with the key and all was well but when she tried off it went! Is there a way of turning it off without having to use the fob as she wont lock it for fear of it going off again
thanks
Mark

not easy ,but can be released from arms br removing the two bolts and from axle with big nut if stuck in hit the side of joint socket with large hammer and it should pop up ,its held by a taper hitting the socket releases taper once out removing the two bolts holding joint and cutting of flange of joint through the blot holes enables you to put joint in press to remove ,when fitting new start bolts before pressing joint into bracket

thanks guys sounds like it's more than a 5min job :( oh well it was only an advisory so plenty of time to sort :) as to the alarm its a 96 model and i'm pretty sure its the fob thats dodgy so will have to have a look when she gets home. Can you get replacement fobs?
