Hi everyone/anyone,

I have a series 2 disco which (until a few days ago) was lovely and reliable... or so I thought

I had to get it recovered the other night from a supermarket car park, because all of a sudden I had the alt light on, and the excessive roll indicator on, no brakes, and no steering!!!

RAC man mumbled the word "tensioner", and "pulley" and dropped me and the landy off home. There was very little warning before the other night; a faint beeping on the radio, the car beeping when it was started (like when a door is open), radio channels dropping out - but nothing seemed related/constant, so didn't think anything of each point.

Is this going to be expensive? Do I send to a garage/or can I do it myself? I may be a girl, but I can figure this out with a little bit of help...:) (please...)

easy to change, 15mm socket and long bar and its a left hand thread, your going to need to remove the fan thats a 36mm fan spanner normal thread usually hard to remove. then fit new pulley assembly theres only 1 way it will fit as it has a lug to locate it, fit a new belt following routing direction picture in haynes book and test, if all good re -fit fan and put cowling back along with engine cover
