Anyone know the previous owner of this 90 ?? H196OUP
I bough it from some around the corner from me (Manchester), but the person I got it off bought it from someone down south called "Sean Cummings" (maybe from the Dover area or East boldre, brockenhurst)
Trying to find out who used to own it coz I'm having problems with it, it's got a iszuzu engine conversion and need to know what it came out of and year so I can buy parts for it and need to know what clutch I have to buy for it, plus want to know what the axles are off that are on it as it has rear discs.
New to land rovers, this is my first one and I've wanted one for years so I can experience off roaring !
Any help or info would be great !
If you know the previous owner, maybe you could pass me their details so I can ring him, or message me for my number so could give it him ???

Thanks in advance!

stick some pictures up of what you need identifying, someone will know, at least as far as the axles are concerned. your engine numbers might be enough for dihatsu to id what it is aswell mate.

Try devon 4x4 forum aswell pal, I remember seeing it on eBay
Yea, I put it on eBay within a week of me buying it myself ! So that might of been me, don't know if the bloke down south put it on eBay, or advertised it on scumtree..
I never seen it advertised anywhere when I bought it, it pull up at the side of me on a car park and I just asked the kid if he was selling it.
Didn't really know much about them, but it drove alright for what it was, it just had a bit of a noisey rear diff and some play in the steering..
But after more inspection once I'd bought it, I just wish I hadn't of bought it even though I only gave £1700 for it!
The rear diff noise went from being 60Db to 150Db in less than a mile one day !
All the UJ"s on the props are mullered, 2" of backlash either way on the output shafts on the transfer box, steering box leaking fluid as quick as you put it in, all wheel bearings are mullered, clutch about to go !
The list probably goes on, but you can get what Im getting at, it needs a bit of TLC and it done my head in so tried to get rid straight away, only thing was everyone who came wanted it for peanuts so they could do it up and sel it on for a profit!

For got to say, if anyone local to Manchester has got any bits for sale I can purchase, that would be great !
I put a rear diff & prop in it, it's got a 10 spline in the back, so I'm presuming it's gonna have a 10 spline in the front ??
I also need front prop
Full wiper mech inc spindle for drivers side and wiper stalk
Transfer box as well
Can anyone help ??

New props cheap at roughly 55 quid
Rotational play in tfer box output flanges is quite normal, they are pretty crude but very very tough units.
Buy prop socket makes life a doddle.
Many of the parts are cheap and not worth bothering second hand, on the other hand be careful what you buy as some of the new cheap stuff aint what it should be.
Cheap bearings 10 quid a wheel, better ones twice that., thats the whole kit for one wheel.
Forget what you know about normal car prices you will find it funny what you pay for parts.

I seen you in it the other day near guide bridge

Yea,I' was round there last week pal, so that would of probably been me:)
I remember seeing another defender at the lights near the Plaza Indian resturaunt when I was setting off !

I don't suppose you know anyone with any bits around them?? That's local to me ? I live in abbey-hey

Cheers pal, I could do with a front diff or a complete axle if possible..
I've done the rear diff, it's got a 10 spline diff in the rear axle and it's got disc brakes, so I don't really know what diff I need for the front ??? Any help/advise would be great !
Just replaced my steering box today, put one on it off a discovery, turned out a bit of a mission in the end as the pipe inlets were different sizes, so I had to take my power steering pipes off this morning and take them to a hydraulic place and swap the end on my pipes to disco pipes !
Oh, and swap the drop arm as the disco one don't have the balljoint in it, so I put a brand new one on !
