Anyone got a scrap P38 door lying around? I need some window runners...

If anyone's got an old door lying around.. I need the window runners, this is the guide which sits in a metal channel in the door and guides the window, the metal channel is part of the door, not the window mech.

I havent bothered to ask at the main dealer - last time i asked them for a price on something my heart actually stopped.

I'm guessing someone's got a dented / semi stripped door lying around somewhere with these still in it??

It's the drivers side front door, i'm guessing the passenger side will be the same...

They're missing from my door, all works fine but it rattles with the window down - as to why they're missing, it's probably got something to do with the guys who stripped the door at some point during previous ownership...

Judging by the wood screws holding the split door card on and the broken fasteners (I found an old key being used as a washer) I would say it looks like the worksmanship of Yee haa Auutomotive services. The guy i bought it off wouldn't tell me who did it (He paid money for this repair..), he said that the guy's a mate.

I said, no.. he really isn't.

I have been after these for ages as mine are all corroded under the plastic/rubber :frown: Very difficult to get because most people want to sell doors complete and that creates problems for me shipping-wise. Given that they are about £100 each from the stealers it might well be worth going for a complete door off ebay and then stripping it out for new door cards, handles etc. You can get a door for for way less than £100 and then perhaps claw some money back by selling bits you don't want.

Jesus... Well sounds like you're having the same issue as me!! I think i'll just hold out till a door comes up relatively close on fleabay then strip it like you suggested!

try emmotts of clone for door parts if you need his number just ask..

Maybe a silly question, but are you sure it is not in the bottom of the door well somewhere.....Mine was doing the same rattling, so i took the door card off and had to cut open the lining, and my rubber runner was 'missing'', however after a bit of rooting around I found it wedged into the bottom of the door well, for some reason it keeps falling out of the runner....

Mine did exactly the same, although hasnt come back out, try gluing it in
