Got myself one of the special tools from land rover and 1st time I used it most of the ends of the fingers snapped off . The covers feel loose is there a knack of getting them off ?

The tool is only for removing the covers on the security nuts, (the ones with the dimples), and they should come off easy, the covers on the others are part of the nut and fixed!

And i just get the cover on the security nut off by sticking the brace on and wiggling it off!
Amazing someone invents a tool to make it easy and you take the harder option. I bet you'd die of shock if someone turned the ignition key on your Landie, after all those years pedaling:D:D:D

The covers over the nuts seem a bit flimsy are you sure they would stand up to a socket and bar wrenching on them?

Yeah, they'll be ok, but watch your torque settings when tightening them and don't let anyone use an airgun on em or they will distort:eek:. Rust forming under the caps also distorts em so a squirt of WD40 now and then won't do any harm either. I had to get a new set on my Rangie when I bought it as the ones on there were so outta shape couldn't get a socket on em. Of course I only discovered this after a blowout, sitting on the side of the m-way:eek::eek:
