Alarm chimes

CAN ANYONE HELP
When i get in to my disco td5 i put key in ignition turn key and get 6 chimes if i get out of car with key in and engine running if i get back in i get 6 chimes again the dashboard seat belt light not on so dont know if this is the norm?

I hope it's the norm as mine's exactly the same. I've only had mine a few weeks so still learning... I think it is a seat belt reminder, I keep trying to remember to put the belt on before I turn on the ignition but I always forget :doh:

if u plug it into a dedicated tester u can get rid of it from the BCU settings
