AFF Sake - more problems!

I haven't been on for a while 'cause my lil lemon seemed to be behaving itself. Well today I drive to a friends house, reverse in to her drive way and the car gets stuck in reverse (gear have been a little clunky and hard to hit). Anyway eventually I get it in neutral and decide to run for home whilst things are going good.

Driving along the motorway in 5th when it starts to rev up for no reason. Put it down in to 4th drives ok, try 5th again and same thing revs through the roof. So I've driven it home very sedately and it's gone through 1st to 4th ok.

Any suggestions? Everything seems to talk about loss of power which mine didn't as such - definitely think this time it's a trade in job!!

have yu checked clutch fluid level?

i think you have a clutch problem,,,,, i did said clutch

clutch and fluid!!!!! don't even go there lads!

sounds like more than a fluid problem. sounds like clutch is slippins in fifth. think you might be needing a new clutch plate.

Hmm any idea how much they might sting me for that?

They have the hard removable rear cover and sunroof. It's lovely to drive and very comfy but looks like it gonna bleed me dry so I might well get rid of it - shame!

Hmm ok so RAC say not clutch but seems to be gear selector? Any views? You think this might be the issue and if so how much £££ will local guys be taking from me this time!

and with you having problems selecting gears at low speeds, it points to clutch plate not releasing and also slipping in 5th ,
1, plate could be worn/pressure plate weak
2, clutch not releasing ,due to hydraulic fault,

(this is a good reason why not to ride the clutch) but im sure you would never do that

sounds like clutch slip to me. . . .
