Hi,
currently there is about 30-40 degrees of play when turning the steering wheel before the wheels begin to move. So I am trying to adjust the steering box (No play in the ujs). I've got the 6 nut Gemmer power steering box.
The I've removed the locking nut but the threaded shaft with the allen key hole is not moving and I can not tighten it in to adjust the steering box.
So anyway, Does anyone know the size of the nut or shaft?
so that I can get two more thinner nuts, put them on the shaft and then tighten together and hopefully that will allow me to screw in the adjustment shaft thing with the allen key hole in. alternatively just one nut and blank the top up. Either way, I'd like to avoid cutting a slot in the top and screwing it in that way.
The Shaft has a diameter of 11mm but I do not have a thread gauge to work out something like tpi.
