accelarator sticks

I have a 1997 disco. Recently my accele
rator is sticking on when you take your foot off. If i tap it it come off ok or pull it up by foot. Its fly by wire. Any ideas as to what part needs replacing would be of great help. Tried wd40 etc

1997 fly by wire? 300tdi?. Mine wasn't in the same year?

First is spray the pivot with WD but u have done that, so does the peddle have a return spring.

It didn't have EDC then.

Before you start spraying the pivot or lashing out on parts, check the adjacent kick panel. Mine used to "stick" but was not actually returning fully as the panel was stopping it. I got fed up and lopped the back corner off the panel - all's well now!
