i have had the usual starter solenoid issues so got the parts from ebay as suggested in every starter issue thread on here, before putting a thread and everyone saying use the f**n search, anyway this is the first issue i have had with this so yesterday i changed my front discs and shoes i thought i would change the solenoid (that top bolt is a bitch ) as everyone said , so all work well this morning starting first time everytime yay , untill now just been out and my cow killer will not start , ive checked the connections again = all clean battery seems fine no dimmimg of lights, fuel pump work, just the usual solenoid issue
im stuck now have i missed something stupid

cheers for any help

did you check the small lucar connector too which feeds the solenoid? ...if yes check the starter relay R2(swap with R3 for test) and fusible link FL12 in engine bay

Have you checked the brushes inside the starter? The solonoid will only click if the brushes are knackered! Check to see whether any oil has leaked into the rear of the starter as this will also cause a non start. Usually the brushes either just get stuck and all is required is a quick strip down and a rebuild which does not require any parts or it could be that the brushes are just simply worn down and may need replacing. I used to recondition these starters all day every day and they are very easy to work on once removed.
