Busy day sorting out some rust I spotted a few months back when putting a new tank in.

Cut out the rust, welded in new sections, grinded, body filled to a beautiful and discrete finish, painted and undersealed, now just need to wax oil the inside as the chassis is now solid.

But it took nearly as long just trying to get my tank out

The top pipe doesn't seem long enough to drop the tank with it connected so I can only drop it just enough to get my hand in there with a spanned to undo the bolt.

On my new tank I have a spare connection on the same side the filler & breather kneck is, could I the next time (hopefully not any time soon) connect the top pipe to this? As I believe that's just a return and the pick up is on the sender gauge?
