I had to pull my front wing off this weekend to do some welding for the MOT

I've now got a problem as how to re-fix the arch liner (the plastic arch that fits between the outer and inner wings)

As soon as I removed the wing, the arch liner fell free from the wing; how is it meant to be attached?

It looks like it may of had a sort of spider rivet? Can I use a normal rivet? if so, what size

Then, with regards to the other side of the arch liner and attaching it to the inner arch. The plastic push in rivets I removed are all unusable.

Do I need to buy some of the same to replace them, or is there something else I can use in there place

I have some of the rivets spare that are used along the plastic sills/rear tread plate; can I use them?

Any help would be greatly appreicated

Thanks
Ade

if you have the time its cheaper to replace the plastic fasteners from the likes of ebay but halfords do a reuseable panel clip if you are in a rush although they do cost more.

It would be preferable to get them today to fit tonight

Do they need to be any particular size? I'll pop into Halfords on my way home from work

pop rivets are a solution but a bugger to get back out so make sure you are happy with everything if you go that route.

the last bunch of halfords plugs i bought were straight off the shelf. only one size iirc just a black plug with a plastic screw centre. used them on the front spats of the 110 and held fine even managed to reuse them a few times when doing electrical work so prob saved a few quid in the end rather than replacing them each time :)

I used some of the plastic rivets from the sill cover on mine after welding, all i did was re-drill some 8mm holes through another part of the plastic liner and into the newly fabricated inner wing. Been on for about 6 months now and not had any problems.

ditch the arch liners, theyre the reason your arches rotted out in the first place! (for the uninitiated its because they trap mud and water and rot through inner arches in no time)

if it wasnt for arch liners, sill trims and boot floor sound deadening, there would be no such thing as a rotten disco! (ok rear crossmember maybe, but you know what i mean)

cheers
