3 door load space cover

I have just agreed to buy an early 2001 (May) td4 S hardback model Freelander. Thanks to the forums for telling me what to check fingers crossed all will be well.

Anyway the load cover is a solid plastic one, it has a flap the same as the lockable stowage box in the boot floor but it doesn't have a key hole in so it doesn't lock. Is this normal? If it is has anyone found a way to lock it in the closed position?

Get a stowage box lid from a scrap yard and see if you can adapt the locking mechanism to fit the load cover and hook into the rear door panel.To lock it either get an early non immobiliser key and get the scrap yard to copy it from doner car or get main stealer to supply matching lock barrel for your car.Cost vs point.
