Trying to reduce our fuel bill TD5 29mpg max (A roads) does anyone have experience of Rover 75/MG ZTT either V6 or diesel?
Only want to spend £1500

if you're going to run 2 cars one of em has got to be cheap as chips to run and insure/tax etc or its pointless ?

Why a ztt why not a 106 or punto or similar? I agree with the others, saving money means cheap as chips required....not a V6.

How long would 1500 of fuel last? That' about 14 full tanks I expect. Are you selling the Landrover?

2nd car for when I cant fix the Disco over the weekend or need to fetch a fuel filter sensor that could not be removed but then started leaking.
Sticking with 'Rovers' I guess 200 series are bottom prices now.
Anyone have any experience/pitfalls to avoid when buying?

Have a 80tdi till im back on my feet money wise.

working it out gallons put in to miles done... I get 50mpg combined 30mpg at 127mph steady and 59mpg at constant 60mph.

using 50/50 mix of veggie/diesel and a bit of 2stroke to lube the pump. every 40litres I put in I save 20quid(yes **** you Osbourne)

I have an astra 1.7cdti chav box that does 600 miles to a tank of foooool and costs around £90 a year to tax. This does the daily work grind for the ballast and long distance drives. The landy gets used for load lugging, weekends, work, ofroading/greenlaning and the annual pilgrimage to the isle of widget.
