225 front, 255 rear

I have just noticed that the front tyres are 225,65,16 and the rear are 255,65,16

now...if i understand this correctly the 225/255 is the width the 65 is height and the 16 is rim size.....yet theres a height difference of 2 inches between the front and back tyre

am i missing something?
this is wrong isnt it?

65 is a % of width so there will be a difference in overall diameter,best to run 4 of the same size

ah, ok. So...working it out.

Front is 27.4 inches
Rear is 29 inches

its been running this way for years :s
How bad is it?

center diff will have worked harder ,but its built to be equal 4 wheel drive with the same 4 tyres,so you might find in extreme circumstances it doesnt handle as it should

will get it changed over asap.
add it to the ever ending list of jobs
