My rear electric windows anent working which I suspect due to the usual dry joint, I had a look for the controller but I have air con rather than a glove box and can’t see it. Can anyone tell me is it still in the same place as described in the how to just hidden by the air con or is it somewhere else?

Cheers

Where the glove box normally sits I have a blank panel and behind it is the heat exchanger and fans for the air conditioning. Basically there is a big grey plastic thing there which is not going to be easily removed and I cant see up the back of it to see if the electric windows control box is there.

hi IanFi, I can't tell you where the controll box sits on your truck ( I have a LHD Disco 1). I had the same problem with the rear windos, and I coud not get to the window controll box.
I took a contact switched +12 lead and joined it to the "white with a pink band" cable on any of the rear windows swich. That provides juice to the rear window when your contact is on...
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info but I would rather find the control box as just connecting the power directly will bypass the safety features and my kids will be I'm the back.

hi again, that's not right. If you tap a +12 lead to the white+pink cable on the console switch, this does not bypass the safety button. You only bypass the timer on the window control box. The safety button actuates on the earth cable, not on the liva cable. I have it done like this on my car

That will be why I can’t find it, its not there!

Cheers guys, I guess it’s just the relay which stops the motor if you stick your head in the window when it’s closing but it won’t come back down on its own?

I will check the relay and the wiring, probably a corroded connector or something.
