Hi,

This is my first post but have been verey grateful of the help and assistance the forum has given me in the past - thanks guys.

My drivers window has just stopped working and is currently half way down - damn cold! This is the second time it has happened in the last couple of weeks, but in the past it just started working again. I don't think the cables have snapped, it seems to be the motor. I can here a clicking from the fuse box area when I hit the swithch, but no sound from the motor - any ideas please, there is snow on the way !!

Many thanks
Chuffy

Thanks Teddy,

Still not had time to remove door card, but tried the switch again this morning and the window moved up about an inch and then the switch went dead again!

can you use another switch asm and test it. that will rule out the switch aswell.only really leaves the motor asm

Swapped drivers and passenger switches this lunchtime, still the same problem - dead on drivers side! As you say, that rules out the switch I guess.

Is the motor asm, seperate to the cable and guide assy etc or is it all one unit?

SORTED - happy days.

It transpires there was a break in a wire in the door harness. reapired and now all okay.

No messing about with regulator or re-newing cales, thank god!

Thanks for the contributions made.
