1995 300tdi alternator removal

A job for the bank holiday, fitting a new alternator.

1. Disconnected the battery-done!
2. Removed belt-done!
3. Undone the three electrical connections-done!
4. Removed the top bolt-done!

Aaagh! I can't for the life of me find a way to reach the bottom bolt. I'm doing this on the road side and have tried to reach it from above and below. I can't get a socket or spanner on it at all. Am I missing a trick? am I just not being patient enough?

put small child under to undo it with tiny little hands

Lie on floor and reach up with a 3/8ths ratchet piece of ****..

Done it with the help of a mate who had the right ratchet. Did it from above.

Shiny new part. It needs to get muddy!
