I am getting the suspension fault on my Disco 5. The batter is also saying it is very low.

Are they related? If I change the battery would the suspension fault go away or they are 2 seperate issues?

Thanks in advance

This ^^ and a good battery.
Get the battery tested properly. They could be related, or not. but the battery is probably the first port of call.

Thank you both

what is the best way to get the fault code? I have one of those ebay OBD-ii scanner.. is there anything which is better than that?

What does it say? unlikely it will give a full code though it may help.

There are many but its a cost thing, the more they cost the more they can do/tell. Is the car a keeper?
Do you want/capable to do the work yourself?

We have a GAP IID (for our L322) sure they do the D5 but they are the high end of price. So I dont know or need the cheaper end. But there is 1 that seems to be getting mentions but have no idea. Gary🆘 @gstuart

Indeed as mentioned with regards to having a decent fully charged battery along with a good code reader , ie the gap iid I do believe it covers the D5 , seen them for around £450 but seeing JLR charge around £180 plus vat to just plug one in they pay for themselves very quickly , best to double check with gap iid beforehand to 100% ensure they do work on the year of your vehicle

There’s is a very basic one called the Autel AP200 white, however I’m not sure if it would work on such a late vehicle , plus there’s different software on the AP200 from various suppliers

Seems quite evident in owning these that a quality battery charger , ie, CTEK, diagnostics and a multimeter to carry out basic test are a must as by doing so will help reduce costs

Cheapo obd scanners only really speak to the engine and gearbox, for all the other systems you need better code reader.
Take a look at icarsoft on ebay/amazon (roughly 100/150 quid area) but do check they will work on the d5.
As said above GAP IID is very good, but at over 500 quid it had bloody better be!

See that island which useto be the cheapest place for the gap iid have now gone up to 480 including vat

You need the g4 gap if it’s a later D5.

Many thks as that’s good to know, assume the G4 would automatically be sent when buying a new one

Think mines around 6-7 x years old , must check to see if they bring it up to G4 or if u have to exchange it

But wouldn’t bother anyway as have one of the bigger Autel tablets which will suit my needs
