found the fault..... its the switch for the window, took it apart and found the copper or brass connectors to be constantly connecting. so modified them and now it all works correctly.

if the clutch was to be put in the wrong way round, i would get no gears at all will i? so im assuming that it has to be a bleeding issue then?

Latest......... took the car down to a friends unit (raining outside) and we did the bias plate and the springs, but while we were delving into that area we took the plate off the top so we could have a look at the gearings, nothing really bad in there, very slight and i mean slight shavings...

the gear stick does come back to its central position but its not as strond as i would have expected it to be (coming from a car to this i may be expecting alot) The oil we drained out the engine was dirty but VERY thin, we got told that the oil it has in is 10/40, so its had that in this time...

latest news on the situation I have changed the engine oil, both filters and also done the gearbox oil to mtf 94 as suggested........ But no difference as yet, Another thing i have noticed is when you select 1st gear, and bring the clutch up to the biting point there is a noise that seems...

i have ordered a new bias plate and the springs, Also i have wedged the clutch pedal down to the floor to see if that makes any difference.

being a newbie and all, whats the sticking the clutch to the floor going to do? ill do it tomorrow night tho as im off work on friday. The clutch system was bled up using a hand vac pump to ensure the whole system was air free.

i dont know i will look tomorrow.
