Thanks tomcat, although there are 4 types of selector for r380's only remote Type A was fitted to P38's, the other remote Type C was used on Rover SD1 saloons and Morgans amongst others, B and D are shorter, non-remote types.

Just spotted this on ebay, Snorkel Fits Land Rover - Range Rover P 38 - 2,5 - 2,5 TD with adapter | eBay not the most elegant solution but they've at least had a go. Has anyone tried one and what's their opinion of it in terms of fit, ease of fitting and is it up to the job?
