Fitting a new steering wheel ...

As it's a landrover , do what the man who built it did , leave some bit's out , then it may fit and may work . And you'll be safe in the knowledge that you're as good a Land Rover .

Stick with new Disco - or not??

If it's under warranty take it to them and see what they are willing to do . If is had the head or other water system work recently then it may only need bleeding properly , if not , could be head or P gasket .as regards sunroofs if they leak how good is the boot floor ??

Whats the worst that can happen?

if it will drive , put it in gear , hand brake off , start engine and at about 10 mph stand on the brakes . IF it stops try restarting with your foot on the clutch if clutch works , problem solved . cheaper than a new clutch kit , it has worked for me in the past. As regards worst case...
  13. elsie

clutch woes.. think this is gonna be expensive!

does the pedal pump up ??

A half decent 2nd hand mig is £200 tops , use co2 gas from a beer supplier , 5 kg roll of wire £12.00 will last an age . good welding and neat , and it's eaier than arc .
