Yeah I removed it . Got shut of the useless bit of sh1t . I've been upto my fetlocks in parafin and disolved oil gunk since cleaning inlet manifold , intercooler and all the pipe work. On another note , I received all my parts from Paddock today , do they ever manage to get an order right ...

I was thinking the same ! I have brake lights defo . I thought that because of the rear two "seats" its a pain to get at the bulbs , so rather than mess about taking the car apart , just leave the brake lights and not have stop/tail ? I'm gonna investigate when I get some time :cool:

:D:D:D.........the naked bit worries me though :eek: Anyway , stripped it all down , not as hard as it appeared to be , it's only nuts and bolts :cool: . . Took the intercooler+inlet manifold off for a cleaning while I was at it . My Oh my it's gunky :doh:

Take it easy fella , I'll take any advice thrown my way ;) I will check if it's had a mod too , think it has tbh , as the belts were replaced in the last service (6000k) ago . Was serviced at a specialist and looking at what they charged , I think that the crown jewels were installed somewere :doh:

It was at East Kirkby , had a full day there with Retro Ford doing the photo shoot with Capripower . What a fantastic bird she is too Anyway . Lookin at Disco's on the road tonight , seen three about the same age as mine , one just had the lights in the bumper , one just in the light cluster's...

Ok maybe a daft question :D but , the rear tail lights on my R reg 300tdi are in the bumper , is there anyway way to have side lights in the light clusters either side of the rear door ?? I'm sure I've seen early Disco's with them there aswell as the bumper ??? Also , a vibration has crept in...

Cheers guys , do you recommend a reatailer for the part's , tbh I was looking on Padock @ the timing belt kits , are these ok ? I have had a sevice kit from them and this was a Britpart .

Ok having been told my Front crankshaft oil seal has gone , I've decided to have a go a doing the job myself . I'm ok with the spanners and i will have the help from my mate who's a mechanic, abeit a commercial one . Is there any special tool's that I'll need or any pit falls to be wary of...

Wow , nice one will do . I'll get the belt changed asap . According to the history it was done about 4-5K ago . It will need doing sooner than later though as its making a mess of SWMBO car park at work :eek:

Ok , just got back from towing the caravan from Cumbria and have developed an oil leak . If you look under the car it looks like it dripping from behind the water pump ?? It has a cylindrical hole right at the very bottom near the bottom pulley ?? Any ideas fella's ?? I will take a photo of it...

Just been out for a drive to test it and it has made a big differance . Pulls better less smoke and will drive @ 30 mph in 5th without labouring

Thank's for that . I'll order myself a new gasket and clean the pair of them , I cant believe how much gunk is in the inlet manifold !! No wonder it's a little slugish :eek:

Ok I've removed the egr on my 1998 300tdci and fitted the blanking plate . While sorting the top intercooler hose I noticed that inside the hose and inlet manifold was lined with black sludge . Now I take it I'm gonna have to remove both the intercooler and inlet manifold to flush them clean ...

Just a quick hello from me , just bought my first LR , Disco 300 tdi 1998 S reg. Had to buy a bigger motor to pull my caravan so this seemed the obvious choice !!! Love all its little faults too :D Regards Mick
