I had a similar problem , I thought it was the battary , that was fine though . Turned out that the battery lugs and conectors were slightly corroded . Cleaned them up and all was well .....

I used a breaker bar , wedged under chassis , then a quick blip on the starter and Bang , it was loose .......

This happened to mine too . After towing my caravan or hard driving , it flickered . Good quality oil change later and still the same . I'll chance the o.p.s to see if it cures it

Seen a kit on ebag for 30 dabs , seem's quite good value , not got a snorkel but looking for a second hand one . . . .

I'm thinking of going off road more and using pay 'n' play sites . I'm gonna fit a wading kit but wanna know where to route the breather tubes ? Is it a pain to fit or basicaly straight forward ???? :cool:

Now , I know most use 10/40 or 15/40 , however I mostly use mine for towing my caravan and alot of useage on the motorway . So would you use 15/40 semi synthetic or mineral ???:confused: Its a 300tdi 104K on it . . :cool:cheers

Well had a great time and was well impressed with the Discovery . So was my mate who own's a soft roader . It only leaked in a little water and my quick fix "wading plug " worked a treat (blue tak) . The Disco worked like a proper trooper and never failed in any of the hurdle's thrown at it...

I did the inter-cooler cleaning thing when I removed the EGR ;). The coolant is a good quality item and she never usually goes over a 1/3 on the gauge even in summer when towing a twin wheeled caravan . I will keep my eye on the coolant over the next few days as I wanna make sure the water...

I've just calculated my mpg on my 98' 300 tdi . I managed 156 miles on £25 which I get too about 30 mpg . I have removed the egr and cleaned the inlet manifold + intercooler . I dont drive it hard but do sometimes give it beans now and again just to keep the pipe's clean;). My wife drive's it...
