Think it is the series type like a tractor one, two inlets two outlets and small banjo fitting on top for return from injectors which at the moment I have blocked off.

Hi, got disco 1 engine (200tdi) for my series and it has a wiring loom on the engine, I have a white/red wire from the solinoid and it goes to 2 white/red wires to a plug. question is why 1 wire into 2 I was going to wire to the ignition switch but don't know about the other, anyone know?

As far as I'm aware you don't need a voltage reg, straight from the alt to solenoid and then battery and other one to warning light.
