Hi, i been having lots of little electrical problems with my 109, making the restoration drag, but my problem im having not is the wiper motor doesnt stop, and i have an earth wire coming up from the middle of my hazard warning switch which isnt fitted to anything. the warning switch is wired into the wires coming from the indicator stalk. not sure who fitted it, but the hazard switch does work and the indicator stalk works sometimes.

hope someone can help,

A while since I stripped down my wiper motor, but from memory there are 3 wires, one goes to earth one goes to live and the third triggers the motor through earth. inside there is a large brass washer like a peice of cake with a slice out when triggered it rotates as far as the slice missing, (parks) if kept on earth will continue to rotate untill turned off where it will park wippers down. Not sure if this makes any sense or if your motor is the same.

If the hazard switch is an obvious add on simply remove it and restore the original wiring. Wiper motor as above. Do you have a wiring diagramme?

Do i need a hazard switch for mot? 1981 declared manufactor 1991 reg.

the wiper motor was working fine but the screen wash pump wasn't then i got the screen wash pump working and thats when the problem started. i removed the wire i connected for the pump and that didnt help, the switch and pump are all wired up according to diagram. the only loose wire is that earth.

The earth wire from the flasher switch is probably for the indicator bulb. Could be the wiper switch is buggered - you'll need a meter (or a spare bulb, holder and a couple of wires) to chase the problem.

I have a meter been checking resisting and beep testing i just cant find an issue, so temped to take out the loom but it would be so much work but for every problem i fix i find 2 more.

Use the meter to check if there's volts feeding the motor from the switch. Volts on the earth wire from the motor means the earth has dropped off.
