You will only lose the fuel that is contained in the filter you are removing , no more from the tank, I think with a new filter you have sorted the problem, I change mine every 2 years or about 12,000miles they are cheep enough if you do it yourself.

All I have ever done is as I have already said, my disco is 02 reg ,just turn the drain part anti clockwise a little way until fuel starts to drain off I have always found a very small amount do's the trick, might be time to also put a new filter on.

Just turn the bottom plastic part attached to the bottom of the filter to drain any water present, then try the ignition , this works for me. You don't have to drain the whole filter.

Who in their right mind would want a D3 ? they are old too now and many more problems than a D2.

My D2 is Twelve and a half years old only replaced rear air springs and nearside wheel hub from new 112,000 miles, and normal servicing , but a lot more oil changes than l/r recommend.

If it gets bumped it has to be repaired, I must have been lucky with mine , Only had to replace rear air springs and one near side wheel hub , its now done 112,000 miles half of which towing 1800 kg of caravan around Europe. O ,I forgot plenty of normal servicing.

Do mine once a year now ,Comma x tec @ no more than 6,000 miles and always both oil filters. When i was working changed twice a year inc filters.

I have a d2 there are no caps covering the wheel nuts , the only nut that has a cap on is the locking wheel nut there is a removal tool in the kit containing tools for the jack(to be found in the rear door). 1 locking nut per wheel.
