How much does a Defender 130 Tdi normally use say per 1000 miles. Just been on a run of say 800 miles, and had to top up the oil with about litre. Is this normal ????? Cheers.

Does anybody know the right torque settings for the axel drain plugs. Changed the oil yesterday and it is leaking a wee bit. Don't wanna strip the bugger with over tightening.

I will be doing a oil change (Engine, Gearbox, Etc Etc) on my Defender 130 Tdi next weekend. My question is can i use Synthetic oils instead of Mineral oils. Or will this bugger up all the seals and rings. I have heard that Millers is the Bollocks, when it comes to oil. Has anybody any experence.

Yeah in holland, but i work with that **** everyday, and believe me it is better for you and a lot easier. Stripper, and the stripper that you use will take ages all depending on what type of paint has been used . We have stuff at work that will take the skin off your hands in about 30 seconds...

Why dont you just sand it right back, beats using stripper and is a lot better for the environment and yourself. Just start with some really rough stuff like 60 or 80 and then finish off with 220.

First of all you need to give everything a good rub down with 220s, also removing any corrision that is on the body work. Then you have to spray a Filliform corrision resistant primer to the bare spots. Then apply one cross coat of Cromate free primer, leave to dry for approx 60 min. then apply...

Woudn't you do the same if you had to pay 5000 quid BPM ( that is a stupid tax that the dutch have on cars) and pay 1600 quid a year road tax.

Have just bought a 130 tdi last weekend, and would like to know if anybody knows where i can get this thing insured. The problem is that i live and work in holland, but want to keep it on english plates, because the road tax here is around 1500 quid a year, on dutch plates. I have tried a few...
