Well.....had look at it today and the front out put on transfer box was f**ked. Tonnes and tonnes of play in the bearing. So pulled it off and put another 1 in....a spare I had aquired; and this has made the issue a million times better. There is still a dull vibration coming through the...

The gearbox seems to be good pal. Gear changes are silky smooth, no clunks, kick down is perfect and ATF is a nice cherry red and at the correct level. It was clunky on the over run and when selecting D or R until i fitted a replacement out put shaft. The clunkyness (if thats even a word)...

I will remove props individually tomorrow and drive in difflock. After fitting the transfer box it seemed perfect for 2/3 days until it (settled down) and the vibration has slowly crept back

From the start.... My M Reg 300tdi auto developed an odd vibration when under acceleration which gradually got worse. Definately drive train related. Sooo... I ordered a UJ set and a new rubber donut. As I assumed the vibration was been caused by a bad UJ or the donut. When I pulled the disco...

Just replace the UJ's Its a piece of cake to do.

I will unbolt them all then next time it's on the ramp. got to do the dreaded A frame ball joint sometime soon.....that's also knakered!!!

Mine is also an ES, lifted 3" with all the gaurds and Maxxis Buckshot Mudders fitted....I am fed up with the anti roll bar links constantly been knarkered as a result of lifting it. Is it really as simple as just taking all the anti roll bars off??

Also.....don't over tighten any of the filler or drain plugs, tapered threads which strip very easily if you educate them too much!!!

Is it manual or auto? I use 75W/90 in TF box and diffs Front and rear diff take approx 1.7litres Transfer box will take 1.9litres Word of warning.....check that you can undo the fillers before you let anything out....seen a couple now where people have drained everything out and cant open...

I have decided to keep the 1.2 TF box in the car after the replies on this forum. I have a 1.193 TF box out of a RR? I may be able to locate a 1.2 TF for sensible money if your interested?

Have you pulled the PTO cover off the TF box and pulled the input gear out to check for wear etc on the splines?

Right then.... Just tested it on way home from work, at 60mph on a flat road the engine is sitting at 2000rpm. Is this about rite? It seems alot more "revvy" since the new TF box was fitted. Maybe I am been paranoid. I have also aquired a 1:1.193 TF box from an old RR, would this reduce revs...
