I been trying to find what's causing the slack feel during set off and gear change. I figured UJ but they seem fine.

To describe the feeling. It's like when the clutch bites, there is a delay before movement. Different when moving. That's more like there is play in the drive.

I got underneath and I can shove the gearbox side to side. Is this normal. It was late and dark so I didn't look too much. Just seemed a little odd.

Any help would be great. Oh and it's been like this since I bought it, not just started happening.

Ok so if I swing from left to right and it moves, what should I check. I think it moves with the engine. Prob my description is A little extreme. Not swing, just move independent to chassis like an exhaust might on rubber mounts

Gearbox and engine move together because they're ........um.......bolted together.

4 rubber mounts, 2 on engine, 2 on gearbox but they're there to reduce vibration (yeah right ) and you shouldn't be ale to move it with your hands.

Check all the bolts on the mountings are there and tight and check the rubbers aren't disintegrating

Have you pulled the PTO cover off the TF box and pulled the input gear out to check for wear etc on the splines?
