Having had a defender TD5 for a works vehicle & a V8 disco 2 for my own vehicle, i know which one I prefer. Test drove a TD5 disco before I got the V8, diesel had not a lot of go, not much more than the defender to be honest and the fuel consumption on Defender was horrific about 22-23 mpg...

Leads & amp worked pretty well on my old 3.9 classic, got an extra 30 miles out of a tank of gas & the engine was more willing to rev due to the more advanced timing.....

Throttle housing removed & inspected found to be clean, spindle seals look ok too. Replaced idle control valve too, little better but not much.Tested for manifold leaks by pinching up bypass hose & engine stalled immediatly so I think it's ok on that score. Seems about the same when warm or cold...

Think you will find it's OBD2. But be warned a cheap 50 quid fault code reader won't really tell you all that much, just the bare minimum of engine codes related to emmissions.. To read all the systems on your Disco you would need a Nanocom (not much good for V8's though) Blackbox...

Just fixed the ACE system by fitting a new pressure sensor and realised just how much racket the pump & system makes, operation previously inhibited by the sensor fault. Pump is only 18 months old so I don't think it's the culprit. Anyone elses ACE make a lot of noise? Probably more...

I have a BBS Faultmate which is expensive, takes time to set up but is good and the support & updates also good. Only gripe is it can't do too much with the Motronic 5.2.1 on my V8, can reset adaptive & clear faults but thats all for now.

be an idea if you can get someone to run a diagnostic on it, petrol only I presume no LPG kit fitted...?? In my experience if the engine doesn't sound totally goosed it's probably a sensor failure or something along those lines that will illuminate the lamp

Yes tried a google & that's what bought me here...... Having read thru the posts on ACE I think the first port of call could be the pressure sensor, have a spare valve block so will swap out & see...
