No I've used TIM gauges and the pods you can get for them: Time Instruments TIM-039 Dash Top Mounting Pod: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike They look really good when they're in place. I was tempted by the mudpod, but wanted enough room for my CB on the dash. I think they're a few pounds cheaper...

Haha I know what you mean, with the CB and gauges in place i'm running out of dash space fast lol

About 45-50 psi cold idle, 35 in general running about with engine up to temperature, and around 16 very warm idle (i.e. after a good motorway run or towing a trailer). 16psi may seem a bit low, but 10W/40 oil is quite thin when it's warmed up! I've found that although the water temperature...

I used an electric sender too. I found it fitted ok, but the sender needs to be between the 4 and 6 o'clock position as you look at the engine, otherwise it'll be a tight fit. I used PTFE on the threads to ensure a nice tight fit, I suppose if the 'T' wasn't in the correct position the first...

Depending on the thread size/type of your sender, you can get different T-Pieces. Mine allows fitting of the original oil pressure switch, with a branch of thread size 1/8" NPT for my sender. Here's the one I bought: Oil Pressure Gauge "T" Piece, M10x1 to 1/8NPT VW,Audi,Seat,Skoda Engines (050)...

Has the water pump been changed?

I'll second that, freezer bags are good too, little bit smaller and more water tight.

It's actually 6.7 litres including a filter change, not 8 litres. That's what's quoted in the Haynes manual, and I've always stuck to that.

Funky gauges are a must!! Taken me ages to get round to sorting mine lol got the volt meter and oil pressure gauge in, got boost pressure and ammeter gauges to go in next :) I've used TIM gauges with their own mounting pods, fit nicely in the pen holder recess.

For anyone who's interested, the thread for the oil pressure switch on a 300Tdi is M10x1.0mm, and so a T-Piece of this thread is required to fit a gauge.

I've had the same problem since I bought mine. I was under the impression that on the Discovery the switch is integral, and so a new motor is required to cure the problem. The Defender on the other hand has a setup where the switch is separate from the motor and may be replaced. You'll get used...

The taxi drivers round here use Forte and swear by it, you can get it on ebay.
