Anyone know the thread type and size for the oil pressure switch on a 300Tdi? I'm going to fit an oil pressure gauge soon, and need to order the correct T-Piece.

For anyone who's interested, the thread for the oil pressure switch on a 300Tdi is M10x1.0mm, and so a T-Piece of this thread is required to fit a gauge.
 
Funky gauges are a must!! Taken me ages to get round to sorting mine lol got the volt meter and oil pressure gauge in, got boost pressure and ammeter gauges to go in next :) I've used TIM gauges with their own mounting pods, fit nicely in the pen holder recess.
 
Thanks i looked on ebay but most of em have the 3/8 thread on the side of the adaptor and was wondering if the pressure gauge sender would fit with the oil pressure switch being screwed in to the end???

Thanks a lot for the link mate. Its an electrical gauge with electric sender with a 1/8 thread. The sender unit is quite large, so just wondering how you found they fit on the t piece?

I used an electric sender too. I found it fitted ok, but the sender needs to be between the 4 and 6 o'clock position as you look at the engine, otherwise it'll be a tight fit. I used PTFE on the threads to ensure a nice tight fit, I suppose if the 'T' wasn't in the correct position the first time you screw it in, you could put a bit more on making a tighter fit and allowing the branch to face the right direction.

About 45-50 psi cold idle, 35 in general running about with engine up to temperature, and around 16 very warm idle (i.e. after a good motorway run or towing a trailer). 16psi may seem a bit low, but 10W/40 oil is quite thin when it's warmed up! I've found that although the water temperature gauge shows full, the oil pressure is often higher than it's lowest point. It seems that the oil tends to take quite a while after the engine has warmed up to come up to temperature. I plan on fitting an oil temperature gauge to look into this a bit.
 
All the gauges i'll be using are TIM too - so the oil pressure 1 should fit exactly the same as yours mate.
A pic of your setup would be good if you have got 1 ??
