    Did you use to try clamping solid brake pipes before someone taught you that? I wonder why Haynes etc tell you to use clamps on flexible pipes.

    Iffy Handbrake?

    Not according to Rave or Haynes. What you are describing is how you free off the shoes when removing the drums. You adjust the handbrake using the adjuster behind the handbrake lever. Put the car in gear, chock the front wheels then raise the rear and support on axle stands. Lift the leaver one...

    What have you done to your Freelander today

    Stripped the rear brakes. Cleaned everything, greased pivot points and reassembled. Wire brushed then painted drums before replacing them. Adjusted handbrake. This was after the hand brake not releasing twice this week.
