    Insurance

Im with direct line for my 04 td4 se, £341 for a 24 year old carer with 2 non fault bumps on my name. The non fault write off freeby smash is now past the time where you can declare it. Was with admiral who bumped my renewal upto £515 or so, called up to ask why and got told it was actually a...

The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

Having had a britpart master cylinder fitted to my td4 freeby, which lasted 6 months before packing in. Also speaking to them at LRM Newark, asked 3 seperate staff members for the correct pads for my 04 model freeby, as there are different pads for solid and vented disc's. They were all sure it...

Thoughts you had during yours first (ever) drive of a landy

First drive was nearly 4 years ago with my first freelander. Thoughts of how high it sat compaired to my clio, how it had a bit of power and how it handled a bit differently. Also, why after a few miles did my left leg feel really warm and how my mates are going to hate me having this at 21.

    Slave Cylinder replacement - TD4

Not sure about slaves but I have managed 21,000 miles and 4,000 miles on 2 separate cheap master cylinders. I bought a genuine one in February for £137 and got it fitted. The slave is a cheap part and I'm expecting it to pack in as the master/slave go done at the same time and the master did...

    04 spotlights/fog lights wiring help

Holy thread revival batman! Lol. Thanks for the wiring tip as I still haven't got mine wired up. I gave up with them as I couldnt figure it out. Shall try again and see what difference it makes. I don't like the plastic bar as its held with 6 screws ad the one I saw had all 6 going rather...

    Would you trust your Gaylander?

Which could be the only criteria that he needs... Not everyone buys a landy to go off road, or tow. I know i didn't initially. Now it does the towing and it's actually pretty good for that. No idea about proper off road as i have never taken it off road for nearly 3 years. The freeby...

    would these wheels fit....

There is no offset distance mentioned on them, so god know's. Also, why? Concentrate in getting it looking nice without adding a cheap set of ****e wheels. There are plenty of 17 inch wheels from landrover that will fit. Ebay them instead of stuff that goes on a corsa.

    seat removal

Rear seats are easy, a few torx screws to remove and they come out. No idea about the fronts though.

    Towing with freelander tips

I like the trailer as it will save me carrying everything in the back of the car, already done 2 trips to the local recycling centre with a car full of grass, and then of brick. So trailer saves the interior getting ruined. The trailer is plated at 2700kg if im reading it correctly. Will...

    Towing with freelander tips

That's a big trailer! How to you find your MPG figures react to towing that thing? Towed with it today again, picked up the bosses 200kg wood burning fire for the living room. Took the back roads with it, no real issues and the reversing is getting better. Yeah, the slabs will be interesting as...

    Towing with freelander tips

I have a farm mate, who's dad owns the trailer who wants the slabs, both intact and broken ones, so we are both going to move them all. Should be interesting going up the local hill, which very steep and long. Yeah, the trailer is superb, braked tipper effort which is really stable at speed...

    Towing with freelander tips

Well tow bar got fitted last week and wired up last night. Towed the trailer I'll be using today on a 14 mile round trip. Down dual carriages and back roads with some town driving. Couple of pictures as well. Freeby is a stable platform for it, no issues with pulling away on Tarmac or in mud.

My latest project has landed.. here she is:

I would change the hoses anyway, only £140 for the full lot, blank the EGR valve and do a full service on it. Colour is olso blue as it's the same as mine, should have air con and a cd player inside, has 15 inch alloys on it. Very clean car for it's age. Check the basic's first before buying...

This talk of tyres and psi levels is all well and good but have you got your VCU sorted out yet since that's the source of your problems.

    Any lanes near hull?

So there are a few lanes that could be suitable for me then. Thanks for the replies guys, shall be interesting to get some proper use of the car again.

    Any lanes near hull?

Hi Anthony, thanks for the reply. Was thinking no one was interested. If some of the lanes near driff are reasonable, i could be interested in trying some of them. How overgrown are we talking about, weeds and such or trees and branches to trim back? Alan

    GreenLaning In Scotland

Do you get many freelanders coming along on these trips out? Have a 04 3 door that i would love take off road again, run 17's with michelin M+S rated tyres.

    WARNING: FREELANDER SPARES VCU's

Honest answer, No i haven't. :o Shall go look, would hull lanes fall into one of the massive threads running already in the greenlane section? Genuinely have no idea :(
