The 8% i mentioned was on a golf GTI, so a petrol model. I would use the BP/Shell fuels before supermarket for yours. Cant comment on Redex as i have no experience of it in petrol engines but i dont see it harming the engine.

Ive ran my td4 on shell, bp and morrisons. Morrison's diesel made the engine run rougher, had less urge through the rev range, smoked more on pull away and on full boost and had a louder clatter at idle. Shell was next, good fuel, engine ran very well, pulled cleanly and smoked less than...

    Axle twister fun orf road

Hmm, good to see the usual handbags can still be thrown about. I like the point of the video, freebys get loads of abuse from others for not having the capabilities of the other LR models. Yet when shown at a cross axel challenge, the freeby copes and the Disco 2 and 3 cope. The ones...

    Axle twister fun orf road

Cheers, would love to use my freeby again off road but I'll need to get all terrains and a better sump guard first. Do you get many issues with the tyres clogging up with mud etc or are they pretty good at self cleaning, the new at2 is supposed to be self cleaning but I don't think it's...

Good to see the freeby can cope with those pesky cross axel holes, those 2 marshalls must have got a workout from all the tratters needing a gentle push. Is your freeby lifted? I can see all terrain tyres but it doesn't look like much else has been done to it.

Hehehehehehe. Silly tratter owners cant take advice from freeby owner, get payback and something that can never be unseen. :p

Freelander MK1 Heated front windscreen kit

They also come with SE spec ones, the screen runs on a timer and has 2 30amp fuses in the engine bay, one for each side of the screen and another fuse to overlook those 2. They are in the engine near the battery, mine is great for melting ice and clearing most misting but mine is now 7 1/2...

    Christmas donation appeal

It's good we can help the less fortunate at these times, Ive a few bicci tins and work has several sheets of corrugated roofing so that can all go to make trattererer folk happy and pig friendly into the new year. Does anyone have any spare checker plate for disco folk to make new boot...

Fuel consumption suddenly poor is it fuel burning heater

Short journeys in the cold will kill the mpg, mine is suffering as well as the drive to work is really hilly but only 4 miles. The fbh runs the whole time.

    'Lumpy judder' when accelerating away.

Both in a way, the MAF can break down over time to reduce signals and cause issues, the Synergy needs a better MAF to cope fully with the new power. I think, but im sure someone who runs a Synergy and better MAF will be along soon to explain fully.

Smoke on cold start up TD4

Having found and read this site, many of my issues are present so the MAF sounds like its duff. Shall see how it goes with it unplugged to start with. Then take it from there...

Shall try that once the rain stops going sideways. Can it be cleaned or just replaced.

Smoke on cold start up TD4

Both sides are blanked and the filter was changed 6k ago, going to get the bmw upgrade part fitted soon. I dont get how one does it, and the other never did. Would hope the fuel is not contaminated, but ill try regular diesel for a bit to see if that helps.

Smoke on cold start up TD4

Mine is still doing it at random times, start it up with the glow plugs and it idles happy, but try to rev and it doesnt want to do it, it will slowly climb till the turbo kicks in at just over 2000rpm. It feels like its trying to clear its throat if that makes sense and once its done that...

    Viscous Coupling Support Bearings Video

Hmm, mine got replaced about 24k ago with a recon unit, but I have my doubts over it as the garage that fitted it made a hash of other repairs. I'll guess your place can supply bearings and vcu's and a front propshaft.

    Viscous Coupling Support Bearings Video

Hmm, mine is making similar noises from the front, which is annoying as it got replaced 17k ago while getting some warranty work done. Recon it's time to go speak nicely to my local garage again. Will these bearings last longer?

I've bought the car... Where is the SNOW!!

Mine is spotless dispite being 7 1/2 years old now. Never had to touch it, bodyshop was surprised about it when I was getting my nudge bar fitted. Tyres do make them, hense my synchrones are staying put on it. Only done 17k on them.

I've bought the car... Where is the SNOW!!

Sow is expected in the next week or so. Freelanders are great in the snow, good mixture of decent weight, superb tyres, some driver training and experience saw me through the last 2 winters with little issue. Was more stable under braking and turning than my bosses disco3 anyway, they may...

Smoke on cold start up TD4

Mine blows blue smoke on start up, but only once every few days, it tents to be more pronounced if i have been driving gently with it. Have twisted performance remap, allisport EGR blanking kit, silicone hoses, ive been running it on BP Ultimate diesel for the past year without fail. Oil...
