Only thing i noticed was sump plug is standard 19 mm spanner on mine ;) good info ,ill be following the list when i change my oil this week :) :)

My disco 1 auto has hit 150k now , the auto box was serviced at about 60k . I had a leak on the gearbox cooler so swapped that for a replacement , the oil that escaped from the cooler was Dark brown well nearer black than pink , so i might change it . Box works great at the moment

Fitted over the top m8 , once the plough is removed , its a 20 min job to fit The rear most mount hole line up with nothing at all , just ignor them , the guard cannot drop as its mounted to chassis at the bumper and the middle . I fit brand new 10.8 bolts ( dad runs a fixings factory )...

I have a pair front and a rear , of brand new never used axles These are the casings ,no diffs etc . Believe they are classic range rover or early disco ? £100 the pair ,good condition ,Brand new old stock , just storage scratches . they come with new oil filling bungs /drain plugs

The tyre sizes mentioned above will need a suspension lift of 2" and require body to be trimmed in several places , but i run these insa's at 235 /80/16 are about £105 per corner but you do see them 2nd hand , mine is lifted 2 " and i binned the anti roll bars for more articulation ,and it fine...

This is true at most garages , but i had a vw van 1 month after a belt change destroy its engine after oil contamination :( so i just change them for the sake of 20 mins and a few quid .for piece of mind . Shame others dont ,but its just how things are .

just simple case of cant be arsed , i change the oil seals every time , same as water pumps on cam driven ones . the bill doesn't generally increase more than 10% .its just daft not to ,same as clutch changes without doing thrust bearings its daft not to . No point in digging your heels in...

Use google , most people just use the discovery doner id and insure it as modified . looking at the pics you need heaps of stuff to make it roads legal . i was under the impression cars over 10 years old wouldnt need this iva test would have fun with that...

Check you havent got anything trapped in there like the loom , and are there some locating lugs that stick out a bit (10mm)
