found a company on the south coast that manufacture rubber seals so one of the guy in our factory is going to weld some Ali L section into a frame then fold a piece of checker plate into a lid with welded corners... now all i need to do is to source a way of keeping it in place.

There is a good write up on the Discovery2 forum detailing how to install a second battery. The best bet is to get a second battery tray which fits on the n/s near the bulkhead and run the leads around the back of the engine. You need a split charger but it only takes a couple of hours to...

Always reject their 1st and second offer. My son wrote off a 6 year old clio and they went from a first offer of £1400 up to £2375 wit some negotiation. Get examples from ebay and autotrader of similar vehicles and negotiate with them. Good luck

Making progress as I have just removed what was left of the cross member. Easy job but a 9" grinder was certainly worth its money!

I am planning an engine swap on my 90 which currently has a NA engine that done less than 80K from new. Two questions, What is involved in the actual engine removal and secondly is there any value in the engine? Cheers Andy

Had a massive snake on the D2 last time we towed the tin tent after a Merc sprinter went past. Only doing about 55 mph with correct nose weight and it was very frightening. Don't want this to happen again. Luckily for the driver of this 110 all passengers were OK :-)
