zf gearbox with code 5hp24 guy says its off a td6 03/03 i thought they only had the gm box fitted

looking for a few parts anyone breaking one

any places in the north east that are offroad friendly will pay if required :D

i just need to get it moving reasonably good.not in it for the long haul.will get a new /recon box asap. hoping torque convertor and clean out might get it up and running

pulled the bottom off today a mass of swarf and metalflake the box itself looks like a recent recon one.took the block off and cleaned it out the oil in there was not too contaminated. however took the oil cooler off and it was virtually blocked with metallic particals. dont know if the box was...

on vw based cars they can get a static build up.disconnect the battery for 15mins.dont know if it will work on the l322 but its worth a try. i have used this trick on several occasions with success good luck

spoke to a breaker who said he has a zf box out of an 03/03 td6

numbers on gearbox were 3g XG 1gd8081 will this be zf or gm

drained some oil it was quite metallic. looks like its had a recent box aswell

it looks like i will have a spare one to strip down.the post had a great link on it with a detailed description and helpful pics.

i read a thread the other day with detailed pictures and description of how to strip the autobox. cant seem to find it again

if going down the oil change route would it be worth putting something like lucas autobox additive in oil i have done this with other cars before with reasonable results
