Took the earth straps off, gave them a good clean, bolted them back on now everything is working perfectly. Thanks chaps.

Sounds very plausible, any tips on where's best to start looking? I'm fairly happy with tinkering and troubleshooting but this is my first Landy so not familiar with the layout.

On my 200 Tdi 110, I've noticed that when the brake lights are activated, the reversing lights (and the fog light actually) come on dimly. Any idea what's most likely to be causing this... thinking possible grounding issues - are there any likely places to check? Cheers.

Nah, everything looked clean. Putting the same fuse in and out a few times made no difference. New one and it's all good.

Called 'Moose' because it came with a small sticker of a Moose on the side. Took all the other ones off but left that on. :)

Well I swapped the fuse for the light and it now works, strange as the fuse I took out looks absolutely perfect. I'm going to leave it alone now :D

:D Might end up doing that yet! Now the indicator and the little sidelight on that side are playing up occasionally too... what the feck?! Thinking it may be an earth fault somewhere - would cleaning the earth strap onto the bodywork at the front there make a difference to the lights?

Right, here's the situation - 1993 200 Tdi 110. Bought it a few months ago, the right side headlight main bulb has been intermittent for a while, lately it was pretty much totally knackered - it would come on at the dim setting, but would remain at that even when you turned on dipped beam or...

Afternoon y'all, Doing a total fluid change on the 110, just wondering if anyone in the know could give me the part numbers or sizes for the copper washers for the drain plugs on the gearbox and transfer box - main box is an LT77. Many thanks :)

Master cylinder needed a top up, did that and bled it - all seems good again. Just going to keep a close eye on the fluid level - like I said, there is not even a hint of a leak looking at anything.

Defender 110 200 Tdi - seem to be getting all the teething problems out of the way at the moment for a vechicle that hasn't been driven regularly for a few years :o Basically, driving home last night ('bout a 30 min drive) and initially there was about an inch of play at the top of the travel...

Actually went and faffed with it last night, the little metal ring is actually a bit mis-shapen and was keen to pop out a wee bit if given the chance, leading to an increase in the drip frequency. I persevered and tightened it as much as I could and woke up this morning to a similar or maybe...

Thanks Snail, very helpful. Will give it a shot tomorrow morning and report back. I know that the last owner was playing with the fuel indicating system so it's a distinct possibility that it might be a wee bit loose.

Just going to give this a go. On the fuel pipe, I know it's the inner nut you've got to turn, but is it tightening onto the pipe or the tank? Basically what I'm asking is, looking in at it from the rear left wheel, do I need to turn it clockwise or anticlockwise? :)

Hi all, first post :) Recently bought a 200 Tdi 110, loving it already. I'm going to change the cambelt as a matter of course, just to give myself a bit of peace of mind. I'm happy enough with the steps to change the belt, my question is, if (as seems to be fairly common) if you end up with...
